Patagonia, with Forest Barkdoll-Weil.

I spent fourteen years as a creative director, learning to see. How an image holds you, what to leave out, why one frame stops you and another doesn't. Most people are moving too fast to use that.

Somewhere along the way I started pointing that eye at animals instead of brands. Wild horses across the American West, at first, because I couldn't not. Eventually I built a company around it, telling the stories of animals and the people fighting to protect them.

Learning to see

Forest alongside you throughout. Not teaching from the front, but exploring alongside you. Curious about the same questions. Looking for the same stories. Trying to understand the same landscape. You’ll leave seeing more than when you arrived.

The group
The group

You’ll have more in common than you think. Not because you share professions, age, or background, but because you each chose to spend a week in Patagonia trying to understand the same things.

A small group, eight to twelve. The kind of people who’d rather do one thing deeply than tick off ten. You arrive as strangers. By the end of the week, you’ll be sitting around the fire with friends.

Who runs it

Forest leads the journey. We handle everything else.

The Occasionist

You see a week that simply works. Behind it: a Swiss company that designs high-end journeys most people never find. This is one of them.

Nothing to arrange

It is all arranged. Accommodations, transfers, meals, the experiences. Out here that is not convenience, it’s what lets you be fully present for what you came for.

Beyond the week

This is one week of what we do. Come earlier, stay longer, or let us build something entirely your own, here or anywhere else worth going. The trip is fixed. The rest is open.

Our travellers consistently rate us five stars. Read what they say.
